LVLT announces Open Auditions for «Stupid [email protected]
by Aaron Posner
Directed by Maxim Lardent
An aspiring young director rampages against the art created by his mother’s generation. A nubile young actress wrestles with an aging Hollywood star for the affections of a renowned novelist. And everyone discovers just how disappointing love, art, and growing up can be. In this irreverent, contemporary, and very funny remix of Chekhov’s The Seagull, Aaron Posner stages a timeless battle between young and old, past and present, in search of the true meaning of it all. Original songs composed by James Sugg draw the famously subtextual inner thoughts of Chekhov’s characters explicitly to the surface.
All roles are available.
Conrad (male, age 20s-30s, any ethnicity)
Emma’s son, a Twenty-something playwright, in love with Nina. Passionate and creative he has a complicated relationship with his mother.
Nina (female, age 20s-30s, any ethnicity)
A Twenty-something actress, emotional, energetic and has a destructive side. She is in love with the stage and with art but her passions can be destructive. An ingenue. Script calls for some nudity, open to discussion.
Mash (female, age 20s-30s, any ethnicity)

A tutor that has affection for Mash, Con’s best friend. Pleasant, unassuming, frank and genuine. Singing voice desired.
